My father-in-law came this year to Legacy. At first we were worried because he was having trouble with his dementia where he resided prior. We feel comforted knowing the staff are able to provide the care he requires at Legacy and he is doing so well. Staff has done wonders in helping him get adjusted to his new setting. Staff has been very kind, reassuring and helpful. He is able to visit with his wife in person now and the visits are going well.

The reason I required a short stay at rehab was due to a recent bilateral amputation. I was not able to do my own care needs or get around after the surgery. I came to Legacy post the hospital stay. I have successfully finished therapy and I can move around on my own and do my own daily living. The therapists were all very good and worked to get me stronger. I am happy to be able to return home or possibly an assisted living to have some continued support.

When I was at the hospital, the doctors didn’t think I was going to make it. My heart was very weak from several heart attacks. But just because you have a weak heart doesn’t mean you cannot do the things you know you can do. The staff and therapists were great people to work with. I started initially with a wheelchair when I arrived for physical therapy. I then graduated to a walker and now a cane. The therapists had just the right amount of “push” so that I felt encouraged to keep moving myself further to achieve the next goal. Marilyn and Daniella, both therapists, worked well together as a team. They made it fun, like a game, though I was actually making strides to return home. They made me “want” to do the therapy. That was the best part of doing therapy at Legacy.

My Mother needed skilled care after a fall at home. We were seeking a place that Adele could receive a short-stay and return to her own home with minimal assistance. During her stay she received excellent therapy and she absolutely loved her therapists. Overall, I rate the stay and community as a 5 Star because of the family-oriented atmosphere and excellent food, nursing care and her private room was nice too. The staff were all friendly and responsive to any needs. Christa who helped with admission paperwork took the time in detail to answer all questions and everyone has gone above and beyond. I will choose Legacy at College Hill again if my mother requires another skilled stay in a heartbeat!
